Hello Ellen,

Quick question, is it just this one container plant you are referring to, also are the stems at the base of your plant looking healthy, or worse for wear?

The Web, are you saying it's a spiders Web?Myself I would  lightly hose down the complete plant, removing anything you deem suspicious, caterpillars bugs etc, cut back any dead wood, don't be afraid to remove a third off the shrub, and completely change the compost, and throw the old compost away, even washing the roots prior to re potting, it could be something is attacking its roots? or attack on the shrub via the stems, when re planting add a little slow release fertiliser on top of your compost.

Please come back to the forum with how you get on, it may assist other members.
