Mature Monkey Puzzle turning brown.

Hi All,

We have a very mature Monkey Puzzle in our back garden and the branches have started to brown from closest to the trunk first, and remaining green on the outside. The tree is over 30 years old and last year ago it looked lovely, today not so much.

I've attached pictures from this morning, and last year when the tree looked healthy. The below picture is from May last year.

Healthy Tree

This is what it looks like today.

Many thanks!

Hi @monkeypuzzle

Thanks for your question. It’s been answered recently here giving all the reasons for your monkey puzzle tree turning brown.

Given the recent heatwave it’s probably just heat stress and it will recover.

All the best

Lee
