Monkey puzzle tree branches turning brown near trunk

Hi all - I bought a monkey puzzle tree which had been in a pot for 20 years (it’s 6ft high). I had it planted just over a month ago and have noticed that the branches (the area near the trunk)  are turning brown - is there anything I can do to stop this and restore its green colour?? The lady I bought it from said she used seaweed fertiliser so I have ordered some, but wondered if there is anything else I need to do (or try)?? Thank you in advance for any help you can give

Hi @lee-s

Thanks for your comment on your Monkey puzzle tree.

Looking at the grass around it and its colouration it looks like it's too dry and is thirsty hence the browning of the leaves. You'll need to make sure it's really well watered until it's established. The patchy thin grass shows how dry the soil is. Give it a good bucket of water soak each day for the next 2 weeks to help it out.

Once the leaves turn brown they won't turn green again you see!

All the best

Lee
