Olive tree pruning guide

I’ve just bought two olive trees, anyone know how and when to prune them to give shape and interest

Olives are an evergreen Mediterranean tree that needs full sun and free draining soil.

As with all evergreens prune in early spring. Taking back any dead, diseased or crossing branches to keep an open shape. Most olives don’t need huge amounts of pruning. They’re pretty slow growing.

In the Uk the best time to prune olive trees is late April.
