Spots on croton plant

Hello, I just repotted my gold croton and it started dropping leaves which I assumed was transplant shock but now it’s developing these dry spots (they crisp off if touched) on some leaves and others are turning an orangy yellow color. What is this and what should I do to help it? Will it grow new leaves later or is the plant not salvageable? I’ve had this plant for years (it’s my favorite plant) and it’s always been healthy so I’m really hoping to figure out what’s happening. Thank you!

Hi @mmba16

Thanks for your comment on your Croton house plant.

Good stuff that you've potted it on, but these dry spots look like scorch. Is it in full sun by any chance? These look like scorch burns on the plant.

I'd recommend a dappled shade for this plant and also give it a liquid feed. It may be too dry. Usually, people over water house plants, but I think it may be a mix of position and hydration that's suddenly caused this. Also repotting on may have disturbed the roots temporarily meaning it's struggling to take up moisture.

It will get there though so don't panic. These are tough plants. A good liquid feed like baby bio and a rest somewhere in dappled shade will help. Sometimes placing it in a bathroom for some humidity is useful too for a few weeks.

Hope that helps

Lee
